1. Who we are
Minutes 2 Match is a dating service based in Accra, Ghana, introducing members in Accra and Nairobi. This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it and the choices you have. It covers our website, our Telegram bot, our text messages and our events.
2. What we collect
When you sign up
- Your name, phone number, date of birth and gender
- Your city and area
- The photos you upload
Your Vibe Check and profile
- Your Vibe Check answers: what you want, your values, and how you feel about faith, family, children and money
- Who you'd like to meet: gender, age range and any deal-breakers
- Your bio, interests, job, height, faith and when you're usually free
- Your genotype, if you choose to give it
- How matches can reach you: WhatsApp, or your Instagram or Snapchat username
As you use Minutes 2 Match
- Your matches, which weeks you opt in, and your answers to "How's it going?"
- Your reactions to date ideas
- Event bookings and payment records
- Reports you make, or that are made about you
- Basic technical details, such as your browser and IP address, that our hosting records to keep the service running
3. Sensitive information
Some of what you tell us is sensitive: your faith, your plans for family and children, and your genotype. We use it only to find you a compatible match. Your genotype is never shown to anyone. We use it only to avoid introducing two people who both carry a sickle-cell trait. Giving your genotype is optional, and you can change or remove it on your profile at any time.
4. How we use it
- To introduce you to one compatible person in your city each week you opt in
- To write your match letter: why we think you two could work, where you differ, and date ideas that suit you both
- To text you about new matches and important account updates
- To run events and process bookings
- To keep the community safe: reviewing reports and removing people who break our Terms
- To make matching better, using feedback such as "How's it going?" and date idea reactions
5. How we use AI
Matching follows fixed rules: who's eligible, the deal-breakers and the score. To add detail within those rules, we use Google's Gemini service to read bios, so we can understand what each person is looking for, and to write the short "why you two" note in your match letter. AI never overrides a deal-breaker, and the rules decide who can be introduced.
6. What your match sees
When you're matched, the other person sees:
- Your name, photos, age and city
- Your bio, interests, job, height, faith and what you're looking for
- Your Vibe Check answers, side by side with theirs, and what you have in common
- How to reach you: your WhatsApp number, or your Instagram or Snapchat username if you chose one of those
They never see your genotype, your answers to "How's it going?", any reports or anything our team notes about your account. If you join the Flash Lobby, the people in it can see your name, photo and basic profile while it's open.
7. Who else we share it with
Only the companies that help us run Minutes 2 Match, and only what each one needs:
- Hosting and database: Supabase and Netlify
- Text messages: our SMS providers, to send codes and match updates
- Payments: Paystack, which handles your card or mobile money details. We don't store them.
- AI: Google Gemini, as described above
- Telegram: if you choose to use our Telegram bot
- Event venues: your name, so they can check you in
- The law: when we're legally required to, or to protect someone's safety
We never sell your personal data, and we don't use advertising trackers.
8. Keeping it safe
We protect your information with encryption, secure servers and access controls, and only our small team can see account details, when they need to. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your data safe and will tell you if something goes wrong that affects you.
9. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep something (such as payment records for tax).
10. Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile, answers and photos at any time
- Skip a week: you're only matched in the weeks you opt in, so not opting in keeps you out of matching
- Delete your account from your profile page
- Ask for a copy of your data, or for us to correct it, by emailing us
- Opt out of promotional messages
- Complain to a data protection authority: the Data Protection Commission in Ghana, or the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya
11. Cookies and storage
We use cookies and your browser's storage to keep you signed in and remember things like a half-finished Vibe Check. You can clear them in your browser settings, but you'll be signed out.
12. Age
Minutes 2 Match is for adults aged 18 and over. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we close it and delete their data.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you by text or on the site before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the latest version.
